Legacy of Plowden mini-conference

23rd September 2017
10:00am – 4:00pm
Waldo Williams Suite
FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE
173-7 Euston Road
London NW1 2BJ

The conference is free and there will be a snack lunch for those who book.

50 years ago the Plowden Report recognised that Gypsies and other Travellers were largely excluded from mainstream education in the UK and suggested targeted initiatives were necessary to create change. This was the beginning of a process of inclusion of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities into schools, colleges and universities, which continues today, and is still far from completion.

Lady Bridget Plowden was the first President of ACERT, and to celebrate this anniversary, we aim to bring together, community members, teachers and campaigners, young and old, to reflect on what has been achieved, and what is still to be done.
